The committee is made up of local businessmen and women who volunteer their time and expertise each month by attending committee meetings, business clubs and socials. Kingsbridge Information Centre

Samantha has been Director of the Kingsbridge Information Centre since 2012. She is actively involved in the organisation of Kingsbridge Agricultural Show and Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas. Recently she has been involved with the ‘Hello Kingsbridge – Goodbye Plastic’ campaign to reduce the use of single-use plastics in the town

Katharine Harrod

Harrod Stocktakers

Katharine has been a partner at Harrod Stocktakers since 2007. However, unless you have regular licensed trade stock audits you’re more likely to know her from her work at the KSCC.
Since 2011 Katharine has organised meetings, events, training and been heavily involved with a wide variety of projects for the KSCC. She’s the person most new members speak to first and is always ready to welcome you with a friendly smile!

Raymond Hayes

Bartons, Salcombe

Born in Devon and brought up near Plymouth and in Vanuatu, Raymond was educated at schools in Port Vila and Plymouth, and then London and Oxford Universities. Raymond tried his hand at teaching at Sunderland Polytechnic, Chethams School of Music in Manchester, and in Japan. Raymond is a solicitor and is Chairman of Bartons…

Previously a partner with Deacons in Hong Kong he is author of the HK Practice Guide on Landlord & Tenant, and he still has strong links with Hong Kong and also South Africa. Married to Sally with four grown-up children he lives in Kingsbridge and is active within a revitalised Salcombe Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.

Raymond’s main interests include boating, walking, cooking, music and languages – French, Italian and Spanish.

The Springboard Charity & Springboard UK Ltd

I love South Devon! I was lucky enough to grow up, study and work here and I wanted to give something back to help support the area and the tourism industry. The KSCC seemed the obvious first step and from there I was asked to join the board of Visit South Devon our local area tourism partnership. In my current role at Springboard I am focusing on helping young people achieve their potential, supporting unemployed people of any age into work and people facing multiple barriers to work in the hospitality industry…

Whilst promoting the hospitality, leisure and tourism as a great place to work and providing specialist services to businesses to attract talent and support HR and CSR priorities. Prior to this I was the General Manager at Buckland Tout-Saints Hotel for 8 years, have two young children and a crazy springer spaniel!

Nick Walker

Nick Walker Printing, Kingsbridge

Nick runs a local Design & Print Company specialising in litho, digital and wide format print.

He joined the Chamber because he believes that what is good for Kingsbridge is also good for his business and that by working together we get the town we deserve. Nick contributes significantly to the KSCC and his passion for the area is obvious to all who know him.

Nick says “The KSCC gives us all a chance to get to know other business managers. We can then work together, network and share both knowledge and contacts to improve the overall business offerings in the area – the fact that we enjoy doing it in a friendly and relaxed environment is a huge bonus!”

Carol, is well known for her involvement with Kingsbridge Fair Week and has been a member of the KSCC for some years now.

Also passionate about the South Hams, Carol joined the KSCC because she felt that her skills and experiences would benefit the committee – and she was right.

Steve Mammat

Steve is involved with a huge variety of events in the area from the Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival to the Annual Crabfest event in Salcombe.
More recently Steve has been known for bringing the little train on the quay back to life – something many of us remembered from our childhoods in the area.

In addition to my main role at Pebbles, where family commitments permit I’m pleased to give any spare time I have to projects that will help to build a sustainable economy and community in the local areas in which many of my family and friends live and work, including roles on Chamber of Commerce and Kingsbridge Rugby Club.

On moving to Kingsbridge Peter saw membership of the Chamber as an obvious means of meeting prospective new business customers. When the treasurer resigned in 2007 he was invited to take the post and he has kept the finances in excellent order ever since!
