Celebrating outstanding workplace performance by young people and their employers in 2020

Since 2015 we have been recognising and rewarding outstanding performance by young people and their employers, working in the Kingsbridge and Salcombe areas.

In 2020 the Youth and Business Awards, fondly known of as the YABAs, extends its catchment to incorporate Modbury area. The window for nominations closes at midnight on 28th February 2020.

For our young people aged 16 – 25 who are nominated or succeed in winning an award, the YABAs recognises and rewards the performance which has enabled them to achieve in a workplace in the area. For our businesses employing our young people, the YABAs recognise and reward their success as the leaders, motivators and managers who nurture our young people to success.

Following four successful awards ceremonies, the 2020 event will be held at Thurlestone Golf Club on the 19th March 2020.

The Awards are open to all young people aged 16 – 25 in any form of employment, also to the businesses who employ our young people, specifically in workplaces in the South Hams.
Anyone can nominate a young person or business for an award, including friends, family, employees and employers. Self-nominations are also accepted.

The six categories of awards can be found below. Nominations will be considered by the YABAs Advisory Board including Chair for the Chamber and founding owner of Start Point Law, Rebecca Weare; Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and founding owner of property company Pebbles, James Spencer; Chair of Skills Training UK, Simon Gotch and Rob Holmes, Writer, Entrepreneur and founder of the Gro Company.
