POSTPONED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS

Is your business ready for the employment law changes coming in April? It may not have been top of your agenda so far, but now’s the time to understand if any of the upcoming employment law changes will impact your business. Come along to the seminar to find out what new legislation is coming and how you can make sure your business is prepared.

The government’s Good Work Plan commits to improving the quality of work and giving clarity to employers on their employment obligations.

As it’s the biggest shake up in employment law for two decades, some of the recommendations have already been implemented. These, and the changes coming into effect from April 2020, will have an impact on many businesses up and down the country.

Changes coming into effect from April 2020 include:

    1. Changes to contracts Contracts/written employment statement particulars will need to be given to employees on, or before, the first day of employment (rather than within eight weeks), to everyone starting to work with you, whether they are permanent employees, fixed term or those categorised as workers.

    2. Parental bereavement leave and pay “Jack’s Law”

    3. Changes to holiday pay calculations

We will also cover Corona virus and how to deal with the impact on your business and your employees. There will be an opportunity for 1-2-1 consultations after the seminar.
